DESCRIPTION: The master plan implementation includes an innovative approach to the consolidation of the clinical services of Genesis Healthcare System’s (GHCS) two Zanesville hospitals. This new development includes key clinical functions such as the emergency department, adjacent imaging, 12-OR surgery suites (including one hybrid OR and GI procedure area), post anesthesia care unit, four labs capable of catheterizations, interventional radiology and electrophysiology, 21-bed intensive care unit and a 30-bed medical/surgical acute care in patient unity, plus support functions/services on the basement level.

Other new construction includes the 7,000 gsf Power Plant, infrastructure improvements and approximately 500 new or relocated parking spots. Overall site access, clarity of destinations and wayfinding, circulation, campus organization and site opportunities were used to enhance the patient experience as well as create a seamless healing environment that enhances patient outcomes, creates clear destinations, and simplifies the patient experience.
