National Museum of American Religion – 2024 Student Projects

Students were tasked to design a 100,000 square-foot proposal for the National Museum of American Religion in Washington, DC dedicated to exploring the impact of religion on America and America’s influence on religion. The museum aims to inspire civil dialogue, challenge assumptions, and offer an immersive, inclusive experience highlighting the ongoing narrative of religious freedom as articulated in the First Amendment. Situated at the southwest corner of the National Mall, the project requires collaboration with religious institutions, the Smithsonian, and the National Park Service. Designs aimed at reflecting the museum’s mission to educate, inspire, and engage visitors in understanding the historical and contemporary significance of religious freedom in the United States.
